The challenge and what we did
The challenge
- The customer required an enterprise-wide solution in Aras, not a PLM island.
- They needed end-to-end support that could keep pace with evolving day-to-day business needs.
What we did
- Implemented an MES system, inventory management, quotation management and an HRMS alongside PLM capabilities in Aras, so the platform acts as a single source of truth.
- Delivered end-to-end implementation, migration and integration.
- Provided annual maintenance service and 24×7 support continuously since 2010.
- Used Rabbit Web tools including mass edit and state-based colour configure.
What we found
The customer is a very early adopter of Aras, and SteepGraph’s first customer. What they wanted was unusual for a PLM engagement: not a product lifecycle system sitting beside the rest of the business, but an enterprise-wide solution in Aras — with support that could keep up as day-to-day needs changed rather than being renegotiated every time they did.
What we built
Over time the platform grew well past PLM. An MES system, inventory management, quotation management and an HRMS were all implemented inside Aras alongside the PLM capabilities, so that one system carries the single source of truth across R&D, engineering, procurement and sales. Rabbit Web tools — mass edit, state-based colour configure and others — are used across it.
Where it stands now
The annual maintenance service has run since 2010, and the work continues. It is one of the clearest examples of continuous improvement under an agile method, and of how far Aras can be stretched when it is treated as an enterprise platform rather than a PLM product.
